UULMNJ Seeks a Half-Time Executive Director

The Unitarian Universalist Legislative Ministry of New Jersey (UULMNJ) is seeking a half-time Executive Director to begin on May 1, 2011. This position will play a key role in keeping the UULMNJ growing and thriving as an organization that has matured over the past two years.

UULTI is a 3 day residential learning experience that seeks to renew and deepen our understanding of the call to leadership and to equip individuals and congregational teams with practical tools and powerful ideas that can transform their congregation.

Who should attend?

A team of leaders from your congregation including board members, ministers, committee chairs, religious education professionals, treasurers, administrators, musicians, and other current or emerging leaders. Individuals or small groups are welcome and will be matched with others from similar congregations for group learning experiences.

UULTI is carefully designed to meet the needs of ALL kinds of congregations. From small to large, stable and transitioning, rural and urban, struggling and thriving . . . AND everyone in between! Have you sent a team to UULTI in the past? Sending a new team helps build a critical mass of leaders who share the UULTI experience. Been to UULTI before? Choose a different track and it is a whole new experience

Consider sending a youth or young adult as part of your team. (great investment!)

All three UULTIs will have three in-depth tracks to choose from:

• Adaptive Leadership - Develop leadership skills to learn how to face our toughest challenges: the ones we don't have ready answers for. The "Adaptive Leadership" framework pioneered by Harvard's Dr. Ronald Heifetz is more than a toolbox of tips. It will change the way you think about the internal and external components of leadership and equip you to lead through any change—welcome or unwelcome.
• Mission-Based Growth – Learn how to lead your congregation to become a growing and vibrant faith community. Using tried-and-true methods from highly successful congregations, this track will help you create a sustainable path for committed and diverse membership while finding ways to serve your greater community.
• Practical Theology – How does our liberal theology inform how we live in the world? This track will provide interactive experiences and deep reflection to help give direction and meaning as we face issues of injustice, environmental exploitation and racial intolerance. The track leaders at each UULTI will approach this topic differently. See the specific event webpage for more details.

Participants will further enliven their personal growth journeys by applying different "lenses" to each track in the areas of:

• Faith Development
• Multicultural Sensibility & Transformation
• Multi-Generational Perspectives (UULTI on the Hill or UULTI by the Sea)
• Healthy Systems
